Gingivitis is an infection of the gums and the most important cause is poor dental hygiene. Toxins in the system caused from wrong diet and poor elimination also contribute. Pyorrhea is just an advanced form of gingivitis. There is also an advanced form of pyorrhea, where the teeth begin to lose their solid attachment to the gums and may fall out.
